Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral?
Yes. A current referral from your GP or another medical specialist is required to claim a Medicare rebate. For veterans attending under DVA or another funding arrangement, a referral or approval from the relevant organisation may also be required. If you are unsure, our team will be happy to discuss your individual circumstances before your appointment.
How quickly can I be seen?
With five surgeons consulting across Sydney, we are usually able to offer prompt appointments, and fast-tracked appointments where clinically appropriate. When contacting our practice, please let our team know if there are any concerns about the urgency of the referral. Where clinically appropriate, referrals will be reviewed and prioritised by our surgeons.
Will I need surgery?
Not necessarily. Many spinal conditions are best managed conservatively. Our surgeons advise on both non-surgical and surgical options and recommend surgery only where clinically appropriate.
